Twitter used to be up there with Facebook and Youtube as one of the main social media platforms that every business should be using and at first this was very true.. Twitter reached a lot of people and gave small businesses a chance to promote their services or products to the masses but is this still true?
Initially twitter was a mixture of personal Tweets, business tweets and political tweets and offered an even playing field to large and small businesses alike allowing small businesses to freely advertise their products and services to their followers and allowed them to also go looking for new followers who might be interested in their niche, service or product and this worked well for a number of years.
Big stars such as Kanye West, Ruby Rose, Millie Bobby Brown and Daisy Ridley started to quit twitter citing it as a nasty and evil environment which encouraged cyber bullying and didn't connect people at all in fact it made people feel lonely and miserable.
For celebrities it wasn't a place to promote their chosen art it was simply a place where trolls and psychopaths could attack them and tweet the meanest, most vulgar and hateful comments they could think of, very few celebrities are still on twitter, and most of those that are don't actually tweet personally, they have ghost tweeters posing as them and the star stays well away.
Well, only if you are a large, wealthy company with the ability to spend £1000's on twitter ads.
Small companies who dedicated time and effort into building up a fantastic twitter following when twitter was in its infancy where recently targeted and twitter started removing 1000's of followers from accounts citing that their bots had detected fake followers and interactions all in an effort to force small business to use their paid advertising...
The thing is, these businesses where not stupid and saw what twitter was doing but this was not the worse thing to come from twitters new so called fake followers/interactions crackdown as rival companies could now use twitters own bots against their business rivals. All rival businesses needed to do was to add their rivals twitter name and a couple of popular tweets to dodgy websites and apps that offered twitter follower and re-tweets and they could get their rivals twitter accounts suspended in a matter of hours.
This become widespread in 2019 as it became relatively easy to shut down your rivals twitter account
This is when many small companies decided to quit twitter rather than have their followers come across a suspended account which can be damaging for any businesses as usually there is no smoke without fire and a suspended twitter account can show the company in bad light.
There is a way around this and this was to spend money on twitter ads because accounts never got suspended if they where running paid ads at the time, I mean twitter isn't going to terminate it's own revenue is it which begs the question "Is twitter aware of this black hat technique used to shut down rival accounts" Well, as you can seemingly override this automated suspension by paying twitter, i'd say that they are well aware of it..
Twitter started off as an unbiased platform offering freedom of speech to everyone regardless of their political views, however just like most big tech they are now extreme left wing seeing anything right wing as evil and wrong.
If you are right wing and say the wrong thing, or you like/share the wrong tweet you can get your account suspended or even instantly closed without warning, however people with left wing political view scan say or share whatever they want, threaten violence, even murder and nothing is done.
In summary Twitter is now an awful, politically biased, totalitarian system looking to control its users and impose its own political views so it can push whatever agenda it sees as correct...
Celebrities and small businesses are quitting twitter in droves and you should too.
Since quitting Twitter and posting our final tweet stating that we were quitting. Twitter has suspended our account which is not only hilarious but just goes to show what type of employees Twitter has.... Rather than opening a dialogue with companies unhappy with the direction twitter is going they get upset, spit out their dummies (Pacifiers if youre from the US) and say you haven't quite twitter, twitter has shut you down... Like a teenager telling her friends, my boyfriend didn't dump me I dumped him.....This is what Twitter has become...
